Dumplin' - touching, sweet, warm-hearted, uplifting adaptation of Julie Murphy's book

"It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world," Dolly Parton croons in her 1984 tune, "Tennessee Homesick Blues." But Dumplin', the new Netflix movie set to her songs, manages to be just that.

The delightful Dolly Parton soundtrack teased in the trailer iqued my interest and got my toes tapping.. The movie, based on Julie Murphy's young adult novel is the inspiring story of plus-size teenager, Willowdean Dixon (Danielle Macdonald) and her decision to enter a beauty pageant run by her mom, Rosie (Jennifer Aniston).

In a nutshell - I laughed, I cried, I aww'd (a lot). I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I think anyone who appreciates a well-rounded, well-acted, heartwarming human story, will enjoy this. Furthermore, Danielle Macdonald (the actress who plays "Dumplin'), is absolutely fantastic in this, as well as Jennifer Aniston who I think has really come into her own and found her comfort zone when it comes to acting. All of this and a delightful Dolly Parton soundtrack, it's just wonderful.

Short review - see this film it will do you good.
